Dr. Gokhale believes that high quality early childhood education is crucial for young children’s later success. She would, therefore, like to continue to work with early childhood teachers to help strengthen their understanding of issues related to young children’s development in general and literacy development in particular.Â
Dr Gokhale has helped develop some valuable resources such as films for strengthening the ECE professionals’ understanding of the significance of child centered and play based practices in the preschool environments. Another set of films focuses on reading writing strategies for young children’s teachers. She has worked with a team to develop a program for early childhood educators including all the content booklets. She has also made a significant contribution to PSS’s various capacity building projects for anganwadi and balwadi educators. She continues to work with the PSS preschool teachers to continue to develop our program further.
